Classified as a medium-sized cru, in the experienced hands of the famous Bernard Magrez and Léo Montagne. It has a noble and long history. When the Archbishop of Bordeaux, Bertrand de Got, the founder of the estate, was elected pope – Clement V in 1305, the Chateau gained its current name and papal emblems in memory of this event. A substantial and noble wine, with a rich, strongly fruity bouquet and well-integrated oak. On the palate, it has silky, elegant tannins. More than half of the wood used is new French oak, in which the wine aged for eighteen months. For greater complexity and to soften the tannins, it is worth keeping for a few more years, best enjoyed between 2024-29.
