Zander is a lean fish with low fat content. It is characterized by white, delicate, and very tasty meat with a not very intense fish aroma. It contains beneficial health ingredients: selenium, vitamin D, and B12.
Smaller specimens can be baked whole, grilled, or in a salt crust or with herbs. It tastes great with vegetables, both hot and cold, for example in jelly. It enjoys various sauces, such as with capers or mayonnaise. You can season it with dill, paprika, thyme, or parsley.
